Privacy Policy
Picklr is a pickleball league and rating tracker. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email address (or Apple's private relay address) and name that service shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
League and game data. Leagues you belong to, match scores, ratings (PR), statistics, tournaments, and dispute records. This is the core content of the app and is visible to other members of your leagues.
Messages. Direct messages, league chats, and meetup proposals you send are stored so they can be delivered and displayed to their recipients.
Location and weather (optional). If you grant location permission, the app captures your approximate location once at the moment you log a game and uses it to look up the current weather, which is saved with the match (a fun stat — wind, temperature, conditions). Coordinates are sent to the Open-Meteo weather service, which receives no information about who you are. The app never tracks your location in the background, and you can decline the permission — everything else works normally.
Push notification token. If you enable notifications, a device token is stored so we can deliver them.
Crash and diagnostic data. If the app crashes or hits an error, technical details (device model, OS version, what the app was doing) are sent to Sentry, our crash-reporting service, so we can fix bugs. This data is not used for advertising or profiling.
How your information is used
- To run the app: leagues, ratings, match history, messaging, notifications.
- To show your activity to your league mates (that's the point of a league).
- To fix bugs and keep the service reliable.
- To respond when you contact support or report another user.
We do not sell personal information, show ads, or share your data with anyone for marketing. We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who can see what
Members of a league can see each other's display names, ratings, match results, statistics, and league chat messages. Direct messages are visible only to their participants. People outside your leagues cannot see your activity.
Service providers
Picklr runs on a small set of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting), Expo (push notification delivery and app updates), Sentry (crash reporting), and Open-Meteo (weather lookups — receives coordinates only). Sign-in with Apple or Google is handled by those companies under their own policies.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account any time in Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, profile, email address, messages you sent, push tokens, and notification preferences. Game results from matches you played remain part of your leagues' records (other players' histories depend on them), but they are permanently disconnected from your account and identity — they simply show the display name they were recorded under, like a guest player. If you owned a league, ownership transfers to its most senior member, or the league is deleted if you were its only member.
Data retention and security
Data is retained while your account is active. All traffic is encrypted in transit, and database access is restricted by per-user authorization rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Picklr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
